Emma Botin

Hud, silke och natur

Four selfportraits in silk, digitally printed onto silk and embroidered onto driftwood. The work explores the boundary between skin and nature by exposing the body’s fragile borders to burning snow. The sheerness of the silk embodies the tactile translucency of the body’s skin, and the driftwood the malleable presence that vulnerability opens up for. The thin thread used to embroider the textile photographs onto the driftwood, shows the care that vulnerability is dependent on.
