Conveyor – From Memory to Form: Sculptural Interpretations of the Limestone Industry.

Texten finns bara tillgänglig på engelska

Exploration of the limestone industry, industrial heritage and how to use artistic expression as a bridge builder in society.

Understanding the context and the culture, by working through research of industry, peoples stories, the history of memorial sculptures and monuments, to understand why monuments and sculptures are placed where they are and why. How different cultures are affecting those questions and if it has an effect on society.

Creating a contemporary artwork, a combination of visual language, my own memories, research and the knowledge perceived by growing up in an area where the industrial revolution’s biggest imprint was the limestone industry. By material sketches, experiments, and iterative processes, industrial forms, in this case conveyors translated into sculptural expressions.

Demonstrating how subjective memory, knowledge and experience in  different fields can function as a generative design method, offering an alternative way of engaging with industrial history. It contributes to the field of contemporary art by bridging personal narrative and material exploration into sculptural practice.
