WASTE PROJECT / Still Life with Tiles
Once part of a mountain that was weathered down and ran with rain to find rivers and become clay. The raw material for this project was collected from a waste recycling station, rejected as leftover materials. Ceramic tiles, re-fired, reveal that the squares that seemed fixed are still malleable. In the heat of the kiln, transformations take place, folding, running, bubbling.
