Basecamp

Basecamp is an ambient lighting that can be used in both indoor and outdoor environments. The primary goal was to design a multifunctional light that would meet the needs of users in different contexts while incorporating elements of outdoor gear and the gorpcore trend.
The design takes inspiration from tents, making it compact, lightweight and easy to assemble and disassemble. When disassembled, the light fits into a small bag, making it easy to transport.
The frame is made of aluminum for its lightweight, weatherproof and recyclable properties. The screen is made of ripstop fabric which is a commonly used material in outdoor gear and clothing as it is wear and water resistant. The light source is rechargeable LED and is connected to the frame with a base made of 3D-printed PLA and aluminum. The materials are chosen partly for their practical properties but also aesthetics as they should convey the aesthetics of gorpcore and outdoor equipment.
