Dana
Dana is a photographic project about Belgrade and its inhabitants. Photographed over a four-year period against the backdrop of the city’s brutalist architecture, the work depicts the relationship between the individual and the city. Johansson has documented this interplay through an exploration of the city’s environments, seeking out the moments when this encounter takes place. Dana offers a personal view of the city and is directly linked to his fascination with the seemingly endless spaces and events that shape the world around us.
Gustaf Johansson (b. 1996) is a photographer from Karlstad, Sweden. His practice is project-based and often revolves around a specific location. He works primarily with analogue photographic techniques, whose slow process leads to a greater sense of intention in the photographs he chooses to present.
