My painting is based on organic forms and this time expresses itself in an installation to create an interweaving of motifs. In the work with Every storm strengthens my roots, I began with the background and let the motifs float in an undefined space.
Here the house of cards stands as a symbol of the fragility of a troubled world, which can collapse at any time. The cards represent a tarot spread of the world and predicts an uncertain future. A card has fallen out, what does it mean?
The inspiration comes from the esoteric world, uncontrollable nature and the four elements: earth, air, fire and water. The motifs in my paintings have grown out of an interest in symbols and how they can be interpreted in different ways. Recently, I have drawn and created my own archive of symbols originating from esotericism, older cultures and different religions, which have then provided inspiration for the paintings.
Thoughts that have been present during the process are escape from reality and a search for answers.
