The aim of this project was to deepen the research between painting and ceramics. I have investigated how a form affects the expression of the painted image and how the painted image can affect the expression of the form. The project has also dealt with memory images, which only exist in my mind, memory images that are not in photographs.
I hope that my works have become a coordinated dance between ceramics and painting. I hope that the two techniques have merged and formed a borderland between art, craft and fine arts. Each work has become its own memorial, and the memory images I have carried have now developed into a new, valuable album for myself. Although we are constantly in our memories, “memory” is a concept that constantly changes shape as we try to capture its meaning. When the art of painting dominates the form, new exciting interpretations can occur, and the power I have in my brush can become tangible.
This project has given me the opportunity to deepen my understanding of how different forms and motifs can interact to create new artistic expressions.
