In memory of the death of free art and the end of the world

Waiting for the revolution.
The free art is under attack. The free art is dying.
The end of humanity is approaching. The end of the world is approaching.
I’m waiting for the revolution. I’m waiting for Godot.

Abrahamsson’s work consists of a minimalist sculpture made of rebar placed on a podium of pallet collars. The work was made site-specific for the Bergrummet, a room embedded in the mountain during Konstepidemin with bricked stone walls and dirt floor.

In his artistic practice, Abrahamsson works sculpturally with installation and sculpture as well as performance. He often works site-specifically. His themes touch on topics such as hierarchies, power and gentrification. Many times he bases his works on local examples and uses various forms of symbolism to discuss complex issues.

This work is based on a frustration of how destructive forces with power, here in the form of local politicians, try to control, exploit and oppress the free art. Abrahamsson’s work is a protest and a funeral speech – at the same time.
