Efter läsningen – Comédia infantil, Rent hus, Morfin

Porcelain, MDF, and acrylic glass
70 × 100 cm

Efter läsningen explores what lingers after a reading experience – the atmospheres, inner images, and affective states that continue to live on in the body and memory long after a book has been put aside.
The project draws on a selection of novels, including Comédia Infantil by Henning Mankell, Morphine by Mikhail Bulgakov, and Clean by Alia Trabucco Zerán. It consists of three related works, each based on a different novel. Rather than retelling these narratives, the works focus on what resists summary: emotions, atmospheres, rhythms, and fragments of memory.

Through a method in which reading experiences are mapped and translated into colours, forms, materials, and visual structures, an extensive archive of ceramic fragments has emerged. Each tile functions as a trace, an echo, or a displacement of something that arose in the encounter between text and reader. Together, they form larger compositions in which narrative gradually dissolves and transforms into a visual language.

The work moves between literature and materiality, between reading and making. It investigates how art can give form to experiences that are otherwise difficult to grasp, and how stories continue to resonate long after they have ended.
Efter läsningen is a mapping of what remains – a visual and embodied archive of memories, atmospheres, and inner images.
