Handwoven plain weave variations in linen
These woven images are drawn from landscapes. Through drawing and weaving, the motifs are allowed to transform and fragment. They are reduced, interrupted, and gradually evolve into something new.
Across the surfaces, loose threads rise like reliefs, forming paths that dissolve and merge with what is woven. Extended floats soften the structure and allow parts of the image to unravel. Rather than functioning as empty spaces, the unwoven areas become active elements within the composition.
I explore how abstraction can emerge through process, and how traces of time, memory, and movement can be held within material
structures. The work reflects on nature as something ongoing and changing, where growth, stillness, and decay coexist, held in tension within the weave.
