A tight-knit group of young people engage in seasonal work on an apple farm in Sweden, where the changing seasons provide the backdrop to their personal reflections. As the harvest period draws to a close, the film captures a moment of transition. The rhythms of the daily tasks on the farm serve as both a grounding force and a source of contemplation.

The short documentary Almost Ripe highlights the balance between individual experience and communal living. The narrative rhythm alternates between analog and digital film, while a shared time and space are revealed through a patchwork of different perspectives. It’s a reflection on how young people are seeking moments of togetherness in today’s highly individualised Western society.
