In this project Sebastian Vetsch explores how we experience images through our body and not just through sight alone. The work revolves around light, color, texture and composition, creating moods that can almost be felt as much as seen.
Rather than passive viewing, the work invites us to feel our way through images. Where visual cues can evoke sensations of touch, smell, taste, sound, and airflow, encouraging a bodily projection onto the image.
This approach stems from the artist’s early sensory experiences, where sounds were linked to images, scents to colors, and colors to taste – imagining how a surface might sound or how its texture might feel.
Through materiality, light, movement, and sequencing, our inner sensory archive is activated, so that the image becomes something we not only see, but feel.
