Cabinet oft Seasons

Den här texten finns bara tillgänglig på engelska.

This birch wood cabinet is part of a modular concept of storage and display furniture.
It is designed to be equally functional and decorative, showcasing traditional craftsmanship through details like dovetail joints and illustrated wooden sliding doors.
The two sliding doors each feature one illustration at a time. The doors can be removed and turned over to show the illustrations on their other side. Each motif represents one of the four seasons, as experienced in Dalsland. The atmosphere of the room can be adapted to the current and the following season, just like a calendar.
The inspiration for my work comes from the landscape of Dalsland and its changing expressions throughout the year. I use techniques such as carving, coloring and inlaying birch bark into the wooden surface. The birch bark brings life to the scene and is a tactile reminder of where the cabinet’s material came from.
