Sneak out, slip away

Den här texten finns bara tillgänglig på engelska.

Sneak out, slip away is an artistic enquiry rooted in the exploration of tactics of weak resistance—subtle forms of resistance embedded in everyday life, body politics, and their connection to material investigation and artistic processes. Departing from and investigating ways to challenge and resist the enormous power structures and biopolitics governing the female body, I have focused on exploring forms of everyday „weak” resistance that young women inhabit.

My interest began from personal and familial observations, especially watching how my sisters, my and her friends created space to reclaim agency. What’s become increasingly important in my work is not just the spatial presence of women in specific contexts, but also the presence or absence of the female voice. This focus brings me back to the body, not only as form, but as sound. I explore its tactile, embodied qualities, as well as its sonic dimensions: voice, resonance, and pitch. My works engage tactility, sound, digital presence, and cultural symbolism.

Sneak out, slip away spans multiple formats:

– A sound installation ‘Gossips’ based on collected stories
– Metal casting of fragile forms;
– Digital weavings from social media screenshots;
– Paintings that resist nationalist ideals;
– Birchwood reliefs drawing on folk symbolism.

Different aspects of my enquiry were explored in my solo exhibition ‘sneak out, slip away’ at Gallery Rotor2, as well as in the graduation show A Necessary Other.
