This project explores how ornamentation in furniture design characterized by balance, elegance, and proportion, can be reimagined to reflect contemporary life through modern symbols and manufacturing methods. Historically, ornamentation was associated with luxury, craftsmanship, and exclusivity. Today, there is a growing opportunity to make decorative elements more accessible and relevant by incorporating symbols from daily life, that will tell stories to us and future generations. These modern motifs can tell the story of our time in a way that is both playful and meaningful.
