The work explores emotional neglect through a material-based and performative process. The textiles are initially woven with great care, forming a slow, almost maternal bond with the material. They are then subjected—both deliberately and unintentionally—to destruction: burning, staining, and manipulation. By stepping into the dual role of giver and withholder of care, the artist examines the relationship between maker and material, parent and child. What does it mean to harm something you are meant to protect? The installation investigates the blurred line between intention and accident, and how material practice can become a space for examining emotional and social structures.
