Carrying as Culture – Notes about tools and objects that we carry, and they carry us.

Carrying as Culture is a master’s project that explores the publication as a method, a form of research that bridges thinking and making. It emerges from a curiosity to re-imagine the encyclopaedia: not as a static container of universal truths, but as a living format composed of fragments and associations.

At the heart of this reimagining is the concept of carrying, literally and metaphorically,  what do we carry? How can carrying become a way of looking at the feminist history of design? These questions are explored through historical research, conversations with friends, and collaborative workshops, where conversations take place and containers are created, such as pockets, bags, and ceramic bottles. Each becomes a way of containing and documenting thoughts.

This publishing practice is accompanied by a Circumlocution, a parallel exercise that collects all the discarded materials.
