Tactile Storytelling<\/h2>\n

This project explores new ways of storytelling through tactile, handheld objects \u2013 in collaboration with children with visual impairments. What happens when a story is not only seen or heard, but also felt?
\nInspired by translation studies \u2013 where translation includes movement between different forms of expression \u2013 the project investigates how stories can take on physical shape.
\nWhat began as an attempt to make a picture book accessible through tactile illustrations evolved into a design process that questions what it means to read, to understand, and to experience a narrative. By creating three-dimensional forms \u201cread\u201d by hand, alongside oral storytelling, the story becomes a shared, embodied experience.
\nThe aim is to challenge the visual norm in storytelling \u2013 and to show that all children have the right to engage with stories on their own terms.<\/p>\n
