Välkommen till Göteborg!
“Välkommen till Göteborg!” Or “Welcome to Gothenburg!” is a video documentation of the stops on tram line five, with the aim of reflecting and documenting everyday life in Gothenburg, as well as serving as a framework for a transdisciplinary exploratory design process. The final result is a 10-minute short film divided into five sections, created through a mix of a three-act structure, tram maps, and an EP/Album structure, where each part represents different segments of the tram journey.
The project was divided into pre-production, production, and post-production phases. The pre-production phase involved conducting research which was formatted into small film manuals, as well as creating an overall schedule for production and post-production. The production phase involved filming and experimenting with composition, angles, and settings, followed by editing, color grading, and animations in the post-production phase. The songwriting, production, mixing, mastering, and overall soundscape were all created from scratch using recorded sounds and VSTs, which took place alongside the animation during post-production.
