Annexet i Slakthuset – Det tredje rummet
This project is a design proposal for a library-annex in the cultural historical factory complex “Slakthuset” in Gamlestaden, Gothenburg. The purpose is to provide the neighbourhood with a meeting place that is aligned with the “third room” premises. To contribute to the debate of an democratic city landscape and offer the citizens of Gamlestaden an open, welcoming place that allows for culture, knowledge, exchange and community. The project also aims to honor the history of the built environment. The interior concept has thus been shaped based on the conditions of the existing environment through a preservative and complementary approach.
